A dramatic video shows a drone hovering just feet from a passenger jet landing in an airport in a dangerous near-miss incident. Footage revealed the "reckless" owner earlier launched the device from Whitney Park in Las Vegas for a zip around the skies above. But when they spotted the plane approaching McCarran International Airport in the distance they swooped in for a closer look. It dropped swiftly for the up-close footage of the jet as it coasted in towards the runway ahead for its landing, news site Las Vegas Now reported. Drone users blasted the manoeuvre that put the passengers in peril and gave a bad rap to their hobby.
A Delta flight from Orlando was preparing to land in New York when the pilot spotted an unmanned drone only 100 feet away. » Subscribe to NBC News: http://nbcnews.to/SubscribeToNBC » Watch more NBC video: http://bit.ly/MoreNBCNews NBC News is a leading source of global news and information. Currently, FAA guidelines state that you cannot fly a drone within 5 miles of an airport UNLESS you contact the airport and control tower. I decided to give it a try by calling the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport. ---My Drones--- Mavic - http://amzn.to/2qO889c Inspire 1 - http://amzn.to/2rUlJjs ---Camera Equipment--- Canon 80d - http://amzn.to/2qVS6ZQ Shure VP83F LensHopper - http://amzn.to/2rzJFFG GorillaPod Focus - http://amzn.to/2s7Hj3C ---Camera Bag--- ProTactic 450AW - http://amzn.to/2qOp27q ---Laptop--- Razer Blade 14" HD GTX 1060 - http://amzn.to/2s7Umlp Current FAA rules can be found here: https://www.faa.gov/uas/getting_started/fly_for_fun/ Music by The Passion HiFi - facebook.com/thepassionhifi Life On Tech
Asshole flying drone at airport
Another brainless guy who had just bought a Mavic thinks its cool to film landing airplanes with his drone while being in the No Fly Zone and within the landing route. UPDATE: He has already removed the video where he has been flying over crowds of people. UPDATE: He has been arrested, pc, drone and cell phone confiscated and house arrest for five days, to figure out what they will do with him. http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/Flash.aspx/392908 UPDATE: DJI condems this flight: https://www.suasnews.com/2017/07/dji-condemns-unsafe-mavic-flying-near-tel-aviv-airport/ Click here if you want to report his video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbXgK3PyZsk His facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/niv.stobenzki Interesting article about what happens when a drone hits an airplane: h...

Audience Choice Award winer in the 2015 New York City Drone Films Festival Never fly close to airports. The following video was created with the permission and supervision of the Mexico City International Airport authorities, and in close contact with the control tower and pilots. The Mexican Air and Space Navigation Services (SENEAM) directly contacted Postandfly, in order to create a video. SENEAM personnel, the General Administration of Civil Aeronautics and Postandfly working in conjuction with the control tower and pilots managed to take necessary precautions, in order to create this shots. As part of the trade agreement, SENEAM approved the video to be share by Postandfly. Aerial Photography, Edit and Color Grade by: Tarsicio Sañudo Shot with F450 + Zenmuse H3-3D + GoPro Hero...

HIS VIDEO HAS BEEN REMOVED! He has been reported multiple times to multiple authorities, our goal as an enthusiastic drone community has been reached. A victory! On one hand I do not want to add to the drone-hysteria and keep this video up. On the other hand this might be educational for other potential offenders: 1. As a drone and Youtube community WE DO NOT ACCEPT such offensive behaviour and videos like that. 2. WE WILL REPORT YOU and do everything we can to track you down and hand this information over to the authorities. ANALYSIS From his footage some details can be determined: His first position was at 28° 1'52.77"N 16°36'44.39"W, he was flying at 100 meters altitude and gaining altitude to get closer to the airplane. He was probably some 80 meters away from it. His second positi...
Idiot fly's drone close to las Vegas international airport. What's everyone's thoughts on this apart from the guy being an idiot. It's sh£# like this that's going to bring so many more rules into this hobby. please note this is not my footage and I don't endorse what this person has done.
This video was shot from my Enstrom 280C along the coast line west of Los Angeles International Airport. When flying this route helicopters are required to fly 150 feet or lower. As soon as I spotted the drone (or remote control airplane) I banked hard to the left. It's tough to tell if we would have collided but the drone was definitely too close for comfort. In January, Autodesk partnered with 3DR and Atkins to fly the first FAA-approved commercial drone flight at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), the world's busiest airport. Drones were used to capture areas of the airport that will be undergoing major construction as part of the ATLNext capital improvement program. The drone photos were captured using 3DR SiteScan and processed into images, 3D models, and point clouds using Autodesk's ReCap cloud-based platform. This process enables engineers to design in a 3D world using Autodesk tools. Special thanks to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the ATL operations team for their support. All flights were permitted by the FAA under Part 107.

A quick tutorial on how to find your radial and distance from an airport and how to find the number to call to notify the airport manager or tower. FAA regs require you to notify the airport tower or manager whenever you are flying within 5 miles of an airport.
